It is an entirely new type of journalism, a complete departure from the traditional type of journalism which is just based on projecting the problems, issues and challenges. Solution journalism, gives a different perspective where journalist use their journalistic instinct and training to identify problems, project these problems and proffers solutions for it, in most cases, the solution presented are picked up by individuals, communities and or even local authorities and implemented.
The course armed participants with tools to carry out solution journalism in a way that it can be impactful and beneficial to the community. How to develop content, how to organize and present articles in such manner that solution to issues in a community is the focal point. It is very rewarding and very engaging.
