Scholar Uthman Maryam, a Graduate of Food Science from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, held a discussion with fifteen (15) staff of At Taariq Model Academy on "Mental Wellbeing and Resilience" on Wednesday, 29th of September, 2021, in partial fulfilment of the requirements to graduate from ISERH Undergraduate Studies Class 7.

Scholar Maryam started the discussion by introducing herself and giving a brief introduction of ISERH and what it stands for before proceeding to asking her audience what they understood by the term 'mental wellbeing' and also what 'resilience' means. After getting responses from 2 audiences, she talked about mental health and mental health problems; stating some of its common early signs. She then proceeded to further explain the terms in the topic (wellbeing and resilience) and how they are related. She gave the WHO definition of wellbeing and highlighted the dimensions of wellbeing as listed during her IUS class by her facilitator. She defined resilience as the ability to cope with and adapt to new situations. Afterwards, she gave reasons as to why resilience is important, merits of good level of well being and also signs of resilience and mental wellbeing. She ended her discussions with five (5) major ways to wellbeing: connect, be active, give, keep learning, and take notice. before finally giving tips to maintaining positive mental health. She gave room for her audience to ask questions and she tried her best to give suitable responses to the questions asked.

Having successfully implemented this project, she has hereby fulfilled a part of the requirements expected of her to graduate and get inducted as an ISERH Associate Ambassador, and if all things being equal, she shall have unrestricted access to the resources available on the Ambassadors Portal - starting from Sunday 5th of December, 2021, immediately after their convocation and induction ceremony on the designated platform.
