SCHOLAR RAHIMAT TAKES SEXTING TO 60 STUDENTS OF AL-HILAL COLLEGE Rahimat Ozohu ANAKOBE (Class 5)

Scholar Rahimat Ozohu Anakobe, a 300 level Student of Nutrition & Dietetics from Kaduna State Polytechnic, enlightened 60 students of Al-Hilal Islamic Model College on SEXTING, SEXUAL RISK BEHAVIOUR AND HEALTH: IMPLICATIONS FOR SUCCESS, in partial fulfilment of the requirements to graduate from ISERH Undergraduate Studies Class 5.

She started with defining  sexting as being derived from two words: sex and text. In clear term, Sexting is comprehensively defined as an act of sending, receiving or forwarding sexually explicit messages, photographs, images and videos of oneself to others through mobile or smart phones, computer and other digital devices. She discussed how sexting can lead one to various self destructions and crimes, such as masturbation & rape. This happens when one involved in sexting couldn't control him/herself. She took them through the risks associated with the act: lower self esteem, leads to depression, frustration and might even lead to suicide when it becomes worse. It's also a leading cause of humiliation and embarrassment if caught in the act or ones sexually explicit images or videos got published. Having done justice to sexting & it's risk, she proffered few solutions to helping them abstain from sexting which includes: disengagement of oneself from any sexting activities, dissociation from friends capable of luring one into it, etc.

Having successfully implemented this project, she has hereby fulfilled a part of the requirements expected of her to graduate and get inducted as an ISERH Associate Ambassador, and if all things being equal, she shall have unrestricted access to the resources available on the Ambassadors Portal - starting from Sunday 29th of November, 2020, immediately after their convocation and induction ceremony on the class platform.

ISERH Undergraduate Studies is a FREE online course where African undergraduates and fresh graduates are trained (via whatsapp class) by professionals, for a period of 5 months (minimum) on leadership, socio-economic, relationship and entrepreneurial skills. The students of the course are referred to as SCHOLARS, and upon the fulfilment of 75% attendance rate, 50% facebook engagement rate, filling of online graduation form, and implementation and reporting of capstone project, they get convocated and inducted as ISERH Associate Ambassadors. This gives them unrestricted access to ISERH Ambassadors Portal (http://ambassadors.iserh.org) where they can freely have one-on-one chats with a group or individual Ambassadors and their facilitators, have access to internship, fellowship, jobs adverts; audio/video lectures; books; and lots more.

From all of us at the Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH), we say 'Congratulations to him' and as well give credit to Dr. Femi Agberotimi Olayemi for facilitating the training of our scholars on ‘Sexting, Sexual Risk Behaviour and Health: Implications for Success’.
