Kafayat is an educator, who has 8years of experience in teaching. Currently, Kafayat is a Class Teacher at Excelsior Islamic Montessori Schools, where she focuses on teaching upper basic students. She is also, the first ever volunteer of ISERH and currently a volunteer, as she serves as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

While volunteering with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), she serves as a SDGs awareness Facilitator and was able to teach about 53 children who are out school, during her placement. Kafayat, has been able to create awareness and also paint murals about the SDGs in 5 schools in her community, reaching a total of 148 students.

During her Youth Service Corp at Ilesa Osun State, She served as a Presiding Officer in the 2015 general election.

Kafayat, also holds a professional certificate in Counter Terrorism and the Prevention of Irregular Migration, courtesy of ISERH.

At Arrida Relief Foundation, she was engaged in teaching of basic literacy and numeracy for about 43 children, who are orphans and internally displaced due to the insurgence in the North Eastern part of the country. In the year 2019, Kafayat was able to mobilize her college class members, to contribute toward the  provision of books in the school library.

Kafayat Kareem holds a bachelor degree in Local Government and Development Studies and also a Master  degree in Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies. Kafayat is committed to grassroot development, as she believes development should be a bottom up approach.

Kafayat, is passionate about SDG 4 (Education), as she believes education is the driving force, that will propel a society to the actualization of a brighter future.
