GIANT STRIDE: IAA IBADAN NETWORK, OYO CHAPTER SET A PACE

It was a great day in the City of Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria as ISERH Associate Ambassadors Network, Oyo State Chapter held her first of its kind lecture at Methodist Grammar School, Ojurin, Ibadan on March 11th, 2020

The students and teachers including the school counselor who witnessed the lecture can not forget in a jiffy, the purpose this lecture serve at a time that the level of public school education is crying for help. Ambassadors Lawal Luqman, Bukola Oladeinde Victoria and Azeez Ridwan Opeyemi tutored the students of the said school on the assembly ground where over 100 students of the school in classes SSS 1, SSS 2 and SSS 3 between 8:15 am and 9:30 am (GMT +1).

The school cannot but appreciate the topic covered during the 1 hour 15 minutes lecture which centred on LIFE AFTER SECONDARY SCHOOL. The students were encouraged to make judicious use of the youthful period of thier life which is a Decision Making Period, as the saying goes "past shape the present and present shapes the future", they were advised to utilize their time wisely and avoid getting involved in the rampant social vices.

Also, an anonymous quote which said "IT WAS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, EVERYONE PROMISED TO STAY IN TOUCH. THEN, LIFE HAPPENED AND FRIENDS BECOME NAMES IN CONTACT LIST". This quote was used to buttress the point that there are needs to choose friends wisely and SET PERSONAL GOALS because we are only remembered if we become successful.

Coincidentally, some of the student will be graduating from secondary school while others will be going on second term break. The lecture focused on educating the students on how to make the right choice after secondary school by:

Going for vocational training

Reading very well

Engaging the school counselor

Working towards their goals.

At the end of the lecture, 4 questions were asked and the school counselor urged IAAs to share their post secondary school experience to serve as motivation to the students, this was another ground breaking as our competent ambassadors gave a comprehensive response to the student questions using their experience as examples. The staff and students of Methodist Grammar school all appeal for more of such talk, and our ambassadors promised to always be available to encourage the students.

In Conclusion, about five (5) among the students collected the IAAs number and one of the five promised to give her mother the number for word of encouragement toward chasing her dream of becoming a writer.
